Fiesta in Mexico

Mexico is the official country of the fiestas. All along the geography of this nation, the natives have an enormous amount of celebration, holidays, carnivals, and religious festivities. Those are the ideal days to travel and appreciate the culture and the folklore behind it.

Contrary to what travelers think, the traditions that originated those fiestas are in constant change, ever static. New elements are constantly incorporated as elements of change.

One of the festivals I remember is the "Fiesta del oficio" (you could translate that as the Handymen Festival) in Michoacán's purépecha region, where you can see how they have evolved in different professions and activities, and so the people and the party have changed.

Another example is the recent celebration of the taco or "Day Of The Taco", that the Mexicans described as a "recognition to our food tradition", that is kind of special. The symbolism of party is more that Spring Break or Clubbing, it goes deeper, into a spiritual level.
